CAMERA REP TRACKING

A push-up counter using your phone camera.

Count your push-ups, set a personal record, and compete in 60-second rounds with Rep Rivals™. The free beta includes push-ups and squats, each with its own scores and leaderboard.

How to position your phone for push-up tracking

  1. Place the phone securely at floor height.
  2. Turn sideways so the camera sees one full side of your body.
  3. Move back until your shoulders, hips, knees, and feet fit in the frame. Keep your elbows and wrists visible too.
  4. Use even lighting and follow the live setup checks. Hold a straight-arm plank until the 3-second countdown ends. Start your reps on GO.

What counts as a complete push-up?

Start with straight arms, lower until the tracked elbow angle reaches 95 degrees or less, then return to straight arms. Keep a straight plank and your body in view throughout the movement. Incomplete movements and low-confidence tracking do not count.

Why a rep might be missed

Fast movement, dim light, hidden joints, and poor framing can affect the estimate. Start with a controlled pace and a stable side view. Follow the on-screen feedback and reposition your phone if your body leaves the frame.

Turn a round into a rivalry

Finish the round to save your camera-counted score. Compare your personal best, see your all-time reps, or challenge another athlete. Rankings and records are kept separate for each exercise.

Free tracking, with video kept on your device

No specialized equipment or paid subscription is required for push-ups and squats. The camera processes video on your device; tracking measurements are sent to validate the score. The counter is a beta estimate, not an independent sporting certification.
